| The turn numbers are my own. Turn 1 is a tight 140°, dropping to the left in a slight corkscrew fashion. The track drops and rises again into turn 2, a 40° left, and levels off before entering the first "s". Turns 3 and 4 are banked, tight, and narrow. You can start picking up speed into turn 5, a wider and more steeply-banked turn that forms part of the oval track. Out of turn 5, and into the straight. Hammer down, but don't forget turn 1! Notice that there is a good runoff from each turn, so if you lose it, the worst you'll probably get is tall grass or old tires. |

| Scooters should be able to pick up a lot of speed on this straight, but nobody can afford to forget about turn 1, several yards to the right of the camera. Karts can hit speeds up to 70 or 80 mph on this straight. | |

| In this photo you can see Turn 1, which is only slightly banked, but inclines to the left at a good angle. Helps regain speed before the uphill and the esses. The runoff only looks short, it's a good distance to those trees. | |

| Here the track levels off and turns 40° left. Notice the racer. That's not a big kart, it's a small boy. A very small boy. I'm told that the fastest karts nearly get airborne cresting this hill. |

| Turn 5, just coming out of Turn 4. Time to crank on it, with a wide, sweeping, banked turn just before the straight. | |

| Out of Turn 5 and into the straight. | |
| For a change of pace, the course can be run clockwise. This makes for higher speeds into 5, since it's now at the end of the straight. The track can be configured six ways. For adult scooterists, the full track would be used, but for kids' classes there are several shorter layouts. For example, turns 5 and 6 form a simple oval. By using the lighter colored section, turns 3, 4, 5, and 6 form a shorter, but still challenging circuit for younger racers. | |
| For 2002 there are 15 Sundays which may be available for scooter practice days. These must be reserved in advance, and they request a minimum of 5 scooters at $20 each. A bargain for several hours of practice time. | ![]() |
